Legislation around sex work is a hot topic. At the same time, Governments all over the world are legislatively buckling down on sex trafficking. But, what happens when sex work and sex trafficking are treated as one and the same?
In ‘Dispelling the Trafficking Myth’ sociology student and sex worker rights activist, Fez Endalaust poignantly highlights the nuance’s of the experiences of migrant sex workers in the UK. By placing the thoughts, experiences and perspectives of migrant sex workers at the forefront of their talk, and against the backdrop of recent legislative changes around sex trafficking, Fez thoughtfully demonstrates how the conflation of sex work with sex trafficking threatens the safety and autonomy of sex workers at every level.
