The Innovation of Milk
Sue McCloskey |
TEDxWillowCreek
• March 2018
Sue McCloskey was an art and art history major before being swept up in the world of dairy cows when she met her husband, Mike, a dairy veterinarian. After successfully running a dairy veterinary consulting practice and dairy farms together, they created Select Milk Producers, the nation’s 6th largest dairy cooperative, and began thinking about innovative ways to make milk matter again to consumers, while opening up their farms to the public to tell the story of modern agriculture.
With Sue and Mike's leadership and inspiration, fairlife was founded on the belief that sustainable farming, healthy, well cared-for cows and the wholesome powerful nutrition of milk can add vitality to people’s lives and ensure a healthy planet. The fairlife purpose is to make milk matter, and provide the best tasting and most meaningful nutrition to fuel a balanced life. Sue is the co-founder of fairlife, LLC, and the founder and co-owner of Fair Oaks Farms, the flagship farm of fairlife, LLC.
