What do you know? We know that one plus one equals two, and three is a prime number. How do we know that’s true? Because it’s what we assume to be true. Our next speaker, Mr. Steve Miller, is a math and computer science teacher as well as our mathematics curriculum leader. He received his bachelor’s degree in computer science from the University of Virginia and his master’s degree in teaching from the University of Pittsburgh. Today, Mr. Miller will discuss how much of what we think we know, whether in math or life, relies a lot on assumptions. This is “The Power of Assumptions.”
