The use of technology is transforming and expanding the capabilities of medical personnel. Three factors combine to support the effectiveness of telemedicine -- improved technology; freeing a physician to listen; and, enabling "home" visits remotely. The use of telemedicine requires less overall time from the patient, reduces time away from work, and enhances the personal human connection between physican and patient.
