The co-existence of pain and growth

Emotional pain can feel so unbearable and so all-encompassing that when we are in the middle of it, it feels like the pain is the only thing we can feel to the point of being consumed and uncontrollably swept around by the whirlwind of it. However, stories after stories and studies after studies have shown that it is in fact when we accept that we ARE in the middle of it without trying to run away from it that something else is possible—something called, “post-traumatic growth” or growth as a result of the struggle when we go through trauma and pain. Essentially, the heart of this talk is about the co-existence of pain and growth.
