Shinjini Kulkarni brings forth the importance of the role of classical culture in each one of our lives, as it is what gives us expressions, tools to harness our emotions, and break away from a monotonous and almost robotic way of life.
Born into the Ninth Generation of the Kalka Bindadin Lineage, Shinjini Kulkarni, the granddaughter of the Kathak Maestro Pt. Birju Maharaj, is a regular performer at the Annual Festival – Vasantotsava. Shinjini has given numerous solo performances and group shows in various cities of India and abroad such as New York, Houston, Westchester, Austin, Milwaukee, Bangkok to name a few. She is also a member of the newly formed pure classical based percussion band –LayaCurry. The band includes the upcoming generation of artists such as Anubrata Chatterjee, S.Swaminathan, Shikhar Naad Qureshi, Esani Dey, I.D Rao. She has begun exploring the field of acting as well.
