Being an action junkie is an addiction, and like other addictions, recovery is possible. While we absolutely make an impact on the world through our actions, our actions should be a natural extension of who we are. Instead, what we do has become the definition of who we are. In this powerful, personal talk, Renée Dineen, a recovering workaholic and action addict that left her executive-level career to give herself a genuine shot at doing work that mattered most to her heart without sacrificing the rest of her life, explores the challenge many face of being in the world as "doers," how to recognize it, what we are paying for it, and most importantly, a practice that helps us in finding a way out.
This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
