Seeing the Homeless

My Tedx talk will circulate around the stereotype of homeless people. Experiencing homelessness first-hand has made me understand what it felt to be ignored, dehumanized, and invisible. Consciously or not, we all have an ingrained perspective on who “the homeless” are. Globally, we are becoming more desensitized. We believe the issue is too systemic to fix and there is nothing we can do about it on an individual level. Instead of simply walking by, closing our eyes and shielding ourselves from their existence, there is a way to work towards a world where no one is cold, sick, and hungry.
