Both a surgeon and a self-experimenter, Peter Attia hopes to ease the diabetes epidemic by challenging what we think we know and improving the scientific rigor in nutrition and obesity research.
NuSI is funding researchers who are committed to resolving the unanswered questions about how dietary factors trigger the metabolic diseases associated with obesity — diabetes, heart disease, stroke, cancer and Alzheimer’s disease. Our goal is to reduce the social (4,000 deaths per day in the US) and economic (over $1 billion in healthcare spending per day) costs associated with those illnesses by resolving the scientific confusion.
