Tonight 3,600 people in the UK will be sleeping on the streets. Frustrated by the visible rise in those sleeping rough, Bristol-based filmmaker Owain Astles was driven to help. Utilising his skills as a filmmaker, Owain sought to make a difference by challenging the negative attitudes towards homeless people that are prevalent amongst many today. At TEDxUniversityofBristol 2018, Owain speaks about what we can all do to help those sleeping rough around us. This talk is about compassion; a lesson that the simplest thing that we can all do is to acknowledge those suffering from homelessness, to listen to their stories and treat them with the compassion and respect that they deserve.
