After being hospitalized with Anorexia in 2014, Nicki Cox spent the majority of her teenage years teetering the line between recovery and relapse. It wasn’t until she discovered weight training 3 years later that she was able to finally repair her relationship with food and exercise. Once she started lifting she saw how capable her body was and loved watching herself grow, rather than shrink.
Nicki now teaches young women how they too can foster a healthy relationship with food and fitness via Instagram on @nickicoxfit. She speaks honestly about her past and current struggles in hopes to de-stigmatize mental health and eating disorders. Nicki is on a mission to teach women that their bodies are not the enemy but our society that puts so much pressure on women’s appearance is.
