Nelson Vinod Moses is a Bangalore-based freelance journalist who raises awareness on social entrepreneurship and mental health.
In a truly enlightening and heart touching way Nelson broke the silence,by speaking about a topic we've been avoiding for way too long
As the founder of SPIF (Suicide prevention India foundation) he aims to create a community-based platform for organizations and individuals involved or interested in awareness creation, self-care, research, advocacy, training and suicide prevention.
With experiences drawn from real life, he spread awareness among the crowd of the current and ever-growing suicide crisis in India and the importance of recognizing and understanding when and how to reach out for help if and when someone close to us or we personally do not feel our best mentally.
By teaching individuals how to respond to somebody who’s suicidal and also on how to avert a crisis dealing with depression, anxiety, stress and other mental health issues through active self-care and psychological first-aid the concept of the gatekeeper movement was born which encourages us to lend a helping hand to those in need.
We firmly believe that all of us can contribute towards suicide prevention and this talk urges us to take a step forward towards the same.
