Biologist and science communicator Natália Pasternak talks about the scenario of science in Brazil and academia's responsibility to scientific education of society.
She is a biologist, holds a PhD and post-docs in Microbiology, Molecular Genetics of Bacteria, is co-founder of the science communication blog "Coffee at the Lab Bench" (Café Na Bancada), founder of the initiative "Scientists Explain" (Cientistas Explicam), providing science workshops for schools, universities, museums and research institutes, is Brazil's director of the International Science Festival Pint of Science, coordinating scientific talks across bars and pubs in over 50 cities in the country, and currently trying to balance her research career with her work in science communication and popularization.
