We deserve to be in this place

TEDxEuston

Ghanaian writer, art historian and filmmaker, Nana Oforiatta-Ayim, grew up straddling the very distinct worlds of Ghana, Germany and the UK. Through stories of language barriers, twisted tongues and unsuccessful attempts to fully articulate herself, Nana left the TEDxEuston stage with a single message: we have the power to define our own narratives and carve out our own space in the world. Moving from academia to films, to written fiction, Nana has been at the forefront of a new wave of African cultural institutions. With her fierce sense of self-awareness, Nana shares how a deeper understanding and appreciation of our culture can enable us to bring different fragments of ourselves into a pluralistic and holistic whole.
