As an 11-year-old diagnosed with Juvenile Dermatomyositis, Morgan’s experience with the healthcare system reminds us of subtle, yet powerful solutions we can adopt to enhance the patient experience. She highlights the importance of not mistaking patient treatment for patient experience and urges healthcare providers to be more impersonal in their interactions with patients. For Morgan, well-being is being able to do the things she enjoys, as opposed to checking off boxes on a standardized patient well-being questionnaire.
