"Imagine a world where you look someone in the eye, shake their hand, commit to a deal, and get exactly what you asked for with or without a contract. That is the world many of us want to see. In order for us to realize this world, we must first take a look at the state of the world we’re in right now.
Humanity over the last couple of decades has taken a negative trajectory and continues to get worse. Those who are dubious far outweigh those who are credible. This is proven by credibility research and a credibility survey that is presented in this talk.
When you piece together the information from the credibility survey, the credibility research, and how you perceive the world today, you’ll probably come to the same conclusion that Global Credibility Expert Mitchell Levy had:
*** “We are losing our humanity.” ***
It’s not too late. We can still bring back our humanity. The redefinition of the word “credibility” is the answer.
According to the Oxford Dictionary, credibility is “the quality that somebody has that makes people believe or trust them.”
After having interviewed more than 500 thought leaders on credibility, Global Credibility Expert Mitchell Levy noticed that the definition of credibility in the Oxford Dictionary was only one-third accurate.
The updated definition of credibility is now “the quality of being known, being likable, and being trustworthy.”
In this talk, Mitchell Levy discusses the three pillars of credibility, which are “being known, being likable, and being trustworthy,” as well as their components. He also discusses three ways you can be more credible today.
The purpose of this TEDtalk is to educate the public on what credibility is and how we can achieve it. When we educate ourselves and others on credibility, we can create a better world for ourselves, our families, and our communities, one where those who are credible greatly outnumber those who are dubious. We can create a better future for the generations to come.
Credibility is not just a word; it’s a way of living. It’s a way to show up in life. Are you credible or are you dubious? We need to take action and live our lives credibly. Let’s start now.
