I love this book and, although I'm not sure it has much to do with being a twentysomething, it does have a lot to do with being a human in the 21st century. After this book, readers will think differently about the media, cancel culture and making — and recovering from — mistakes.

Anxiety is the leading mental health complaint amongst young adults and many are interested in tackling (at least part of) it with mindfulness. Relatable, useful and funny, this is my favorite introduction to the subject.

And oldie but a goodie, this book is about the importance of holding onto a growth mindset. This is especially important in one's twenties when so much is still on the move.

This book is for every twentysomething out there with a learning difference. After years of struggling in school, maybe by now you're feeling a bit beat up and worn down. This book will help you shake it off with a good laugh and a good cry and remind you that adult life and work like don't have to be like the classroom. I laughed out loud with every page, except for the ones that broke my heart.

Okay, so I wrote this one. But this book is for every adult out there who grew up with hard times — alcoholism in the home, a mentally ill sibling, having a parent in jail, you name it — and is now trying to rise above it all. It's about how it feels to be a family hero — or someone who lives life dodging bullets and leaping over obstacles — and how to take off the cape sometimes and live the life you want.
