Have you ever asked yourself if the media treat black people differently from white people? Have you ever asked yourself if stereotypes exist in our society about what we call ethnicity nowadays? Have you ever asked yourself if we all have the same opportunities, regardless of the colour of our skin? Lucía-Asué Mbomío wants to make us think about an issue that we are too aware of, do races exist?
Lucía-Asué Mbomío has a degree in journalism and a Master degree in Development and International Aid and has a diploma in Script and Direction of documentaries. She has been working for over a decade on TV as a reporter and filming documentaries in over 40 countries.
Furthermore, she has written "The women who dared"; she collaborates with the magazine Black World and the online publication Pikara Magazine, the blog 'Afro-féminas' and has a Youtube channel called "No one gave us a candle in this funeral", which, through interviews with people of different races and/or migrants, reflects about aspects like patriotism and identity construction. In 2010 she was nominated young role model of African origins by the Afro-socialist group; in 2013 Thomson Reuters selected her as one among the 30 most relevant Afro-Europeans on the continent and last year she was chosen as one of the most prominent African women of 2017, according to the blog by the Spanish newspaper El País - "Africa is not a country".
