Does an augmented - but "humanly diminished" - reality await us?
Willing or not, the physical world where we will live in in the future will be increasingly interconnected, artificial and intelligent, and perhaps even insane: objects "with soul and senses", and buildings, furniture and body tissues capturing our being in the physical world to translate it into the virtual one.
Our data will be collected, exchanged, enriched, and generated in an instantaneous and imperceptible game of invisible and self-evoluted algorithms, to then return back in a muted material form, like rain from clouds: as a result of infallible calculations on our conscious and unconscious digital self, it will become a set of physical "personal effects".
Unbeknownst to us and regardless of us, this will eventually happen.
The real question, then, is the one that asks whether we will end up giving voluntarily up our will or not.
How can we save the incalculable, irrational but fairly reasonable mystery that holds together (even legal) relationships between human beings, while approaching our future?
This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
