Do we need to change our attitude to altitude?
Linton Foat |
TEDxBollington
• June 2019
Concerns about climate change and CO2 emissions have made air travel a contentious subject. As a commercial airline pilot Linton has a unique perspective on this. He puts forward a more balanced scorecard when it comes to evaluating air travel, and suggests numerous ways we can mitigate the impact of our journeys.
Linton Foat is the Head of Airbus Operations for a large UK airline and an active pilot, specialising in engineering and safety and risk management.
This talk was delivered at TEDxBollington on 16 June 2019 and was curated by Sara Knowles. The theme was ‘The Art of Connection’ and is inspired by Bollington’s community - it draws upon how we connect with others, the landscape, our past, present and future. Connections and contrasts inspire and define us as a community. Our speakers convey the art of connection through diverse forms such as communication, design, science, mindfulness, mental health and wellbeing through to the environment and technology.
