As a research scientist, Lesley Mathews teaches her audience about the complexities of drug discovery, and describes the importance of the scientific process. The products we see on the shelves of pharmacies are the final result of countless experiments and tests. However, not many people see or acknowledge the difficulties faced by researchers producing these products. Mathews describes her personal struggles as a woman in the field of science, and gives advice for others who are looking to follow a similar path.
