By age 6, girls and boys may both associate brilliance to boys, and girls may begin opting out of activities that are deemed to require intelligence or brilliance, according to research published in Science Magazine. We know the messages young children receive about gender predisposes them to certain beliefs - about others, and about themselves. Imagine a world where we taught our youngest of girls attributes of leadership. Would we then raise girls who believe they are capable of heroism?
