The history of athletics is fraught with gender imbalances that still persist today. As one of the first female decathletes, Lauren is part of a group of women working to shift those imbalances. Here, she shares her story to highlight not only the gender disparities that exist is sports, but how they are intertwined with gender-based discrimination and harassment beyond the playing field.
