• November 2020
In her talk, Kristine tells us how, together with her husband, they revolutionized the way to protect natural areas from man's advancement. Former CEO of Patagonia Inc, she is co-founder and president of Tompkins Conservation and Ambassador of Protected Areas of UN Environment. For nearly 30 years she worked to protect and restore the biodiversity of Chile and Argentina. She was a key figure in creating 13 national parks in both countries and helping to protect over 15 million acres with ambitious rewilding strategies through its founding and strategic partners, Rewilding Argentina and Tompkins Conservation Chile. Its mission aims to reintroduce to natural habitats species that had disappeared due to anthropic causes, such as the jaguar, red macaw, giant otter, and others.
