The 2020 Primaries saw thousands of closed polling sites, introducing a new barrier for voters to express their opinions and participate in the democratic process in the US. Klevis Xharda and Laura Mueller-Soppart share the same concern as many across the country. As voters become frustrated with inefficiencies, is the fundamental election process, which stands at the center of American democracy, in jeopardy?
After not receiving a ballot in the NY Primary, Laura started Work the Polls and focused on recruiting a larger, more diverse poll work corps across the US. Klevis and Laura encourage young, qualified individuals to work the polls and ensure the integrity of our elections. Their talk informs viewers about poll working and encourages people, especially young and healthy Americans, to protect democracy and ensure the future of our country and the elections.
