In fast and high-pressured working days, doctors see many patients. An exception to the routine is hardly noticed, yet a single mistake in health care could have dreadful effects. If doctors knew more about cognitive errors, working processes might be designed differently. How can knowledge about cognitive error make health care safer? And how can we apply this knowledge in public health?
Karine van 't Land is a public health physician and chair of multiple committees related to public health, medical leadership and education. She is finishing a PhD on medieval medicine.
