Our life is a story, but it isn’t perfectly scripted. Sometimes a particular plot-line doesn’t go how
we’d intended, but we needn't lose hope. With the assistance of Therapeutic Fanfiction, we will
begin to question the narratives that surround us and start to rewrite the stories we can and create
meaning around those we can’t. In this talk viewers will learn how to use pop culture stories—modern mythologies—as a source of healing and a language with which to understand the worlds both around them and within them. Bringing our pop culture heroes out into the real world to help us fulfill our destiny unlocks the power of play that all humans need regardless of their chronological age. Come and question the overarching story of western culture and your place within it. Your destiny awaits!
