Janyssa, 17, is an accomplished athlete and has received a scholarship to wrestle in college, a non-traditional sport for a female. Throughout Janyssa’s life, her parents let her fail so that she could see the consequences of her actions, which made a big impact on her. In her talk, Janyssa explains that all of her successes and failures were the result of intentional actions. While many are quick to blame others or make excuses, Janyssa explains that actions (and inactions) have consequences and by holding ourselves accountable and having a defined plan, we can overcome adversity and become stronger.
