Isaiah Acosta has a simple and powerful message to share for all of those who have ever felt muted or who have hesitated to share their voice or message. Born without a jaw and no vocal voice, Isaiah knows what being muted feels like. It’s a label he’s carried his entire life. Isaiah discovered a way to redefine labels that will empower you to UNmute yourself and to stand up and speak out for who you are and what you believe.
Speech-language pathologist: Katelyn Oeser. Joined by Kelli Davis and Davide Di Giorgio, a vulnerable and courageous talk using assistive technology – performed without a vocal voice – to be shared.
Isaiah Acosta wants to change how people view one another. A songwriter, advocate for charities, foundations, hospitals, and other organizations, he brings awareness to bullying for young people and to those who feel like they don’t fit in. The proceeds of his hit song Oxygen to Fly go back to Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals to help more patients. Isaiah has been featured on the Discovery Channel, CNN, BBC, USA Today, People, Story Corps for the Library of Congress, and on multiple stages around the world. His unwavering commitment to community has made him the recipient of many awards, and he is on a mission to inspire those who have ever experienced bullying or have been marginalized to know that you can overcome any disability and take power back over your labels.
