Two students share their ideas for a sustainable model of urban development and thriving neighborhoods in their project Green Lab, winner of the international competition C40 Students Reinventing Cities in Reykjavik. They addressed the ghetto stigma problem of Breiðholt district in Reykjavik and proposed solutions concentrated around social relations and potential users, starting from neighbours to tourists. They pay special attention to the context of the place, functionality, and aesthetics, people and the environment. Focus on topics: community involvement, local activities, and innovative solutions in participatory urban planning.
