Ira Singhal is a 2015 Batch AGMUT cadre IAS officer. She was the highest scoring individual in the UPSC Civil Services Examination for the year 2014. Ira topped the exam in her fourth attempt, to become the first differently-able woman to top the civil services exam in the general category.
In the talk, Ira talks about how Indian women's talent is being underutilized. She highlights the importance of women's rights and their importance in the work force of India. She directly correlates how Indian economy and its GDP will grow if more women are encouraged to work. Ira reminds about the masculine environment prevalent in the Indian workforce that minimizes the productivity of the existing women in the workforce thereby decreasing their output.
