Today, most people can initially survive their heart attack. Yet, modern medicine falls short when it comes to treating patients with heart disease after a cardiac event. Here, scientist Ida Derish details the urgent need for a personalized approach to cardiovascular therapies. By generating miniature “hearts” from patients’ blood and studying them, Ida hopes to push research one step closer to beating heart disease once and for all, for everyone. This talk was filmed and edited by TVM, Student Television at McGill.
