In this talk, Mama Georgette introduces her vision to bring change to the Democratic Republic of Congo, a vision in which “every woman is a diamond who must shine like a thousand stars.” With her usual conviction and passion, she demonstrated how she has fought to protect and promote women’s rights in the Democratic Republic of Congo and in the African Great Lakes Region for over 15 years. Though she speaks in French, her talk is simultaneously interpreted in English by a long-time collaborator for global audiences.
