Do you want to get to know the world of fish? Elena Lara tells us about all their secrets. Elena Lara is working for Compassion in World Farming (CIWF) in the United Kingdom as a researcher in the team of fish welfare.
Elena got a Bachelor's degree in Biology and a Ph.D. in Marine Biology at the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and the Spanish National Research Council, a Master's degree in Animal Law and Society from the Autonomous University of Barcelona.
During her scientific career, she had been studying marine plankton ecology and possible effects of climate change, biodiversity, and the ecology of deep ocean microorganisms. She's taken part in many oceanographical campaigns in the Arctic Ocean and the Pacific Ocean. She's been working in many US laboratories, she has published various articles in some well-known scientific journals as, for example, Nature of Science. Subsequently, she did a postgraduate in Venecia, Italy, where she had been living for three years.
