Elaine Gallagher Adams is a mom, architect, and college professor living a happy low-carbon lifestyle in a coastal South Carolina town. She serves as a national voice for mindful design, high-performance buildings, and environmental accountability.
Elaine lives in a light-filled net-zero energy home that she designed and uses to teach others that it’s easy being green.
Divorcing clutter, stress, and traffic, Elaine moved 1,600 miles east and from a mile high to sea level to redesign her life and energize architecture students with her passion for sustainability and mindful design. All she needed was a home... a happy home, a sunlight-filled green home to start fresh and teach others that sustainable living requires no compromise, no sacrifice...just determination and faith and humor! She designed it, she built it, and she loves living with so much more than she ever imagined.
