DEI Art and Culture |
TEDxDEI
• March 2018
A performance of the traditional Kalbelia dance from Rajasthan by children in the fourth and fifth grade trained at the DEI School of Art and Culture. This dance, performed to celebrate any joyful moment in the community, is an integral part of Kalbelia culture. The dances and songs are a matter of pride and a marker of identity and represent the creative adaptation of this community of snake charmers to changing socioeconomic conditions and their own role in rural Indian Rajasthani society.
