Agustin Diaz, or commonly known as Tino, was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY to two hardworking parents from Ecuador and Honduras. He graduated from Utah Valley University with a degree in Speech Communication and then pursued his Masters in Education at the University of Utah and is currently on track for his doctorate where he is researching rhetoric, social movement, coalition-building, decolonized education practices, and Indigenous knowledges of speech. Tino is also the project director for the Educational Opportunity Center at Utah Valley University where he operates programming to create access for students into higher education. Tino also works among various Indigenous and immigrant rights activist organizations and is constantly involved in assisting students with their own activism. Lastly, he is a father to two young kings, Luca and Matteo, who love Dominican food, baseball, and school buses.
