How old is the Bible? This is the question I set out to answer when I first heard about the Muratorian Fragment—one of the key texts for establishing the second-century origin of the canon of the New Testament. In my quest to see the ancient codex, however, I unexpectedly discovered something entirely different: a doodle of two famous lovers drawn in drypoint by a medieval scribe!
