Chris Crowe presents the exciting idea of Panspermia, a theory for the origin of life on Earth. Recent research has shown it is possible and increasingly likely that life on Earth began via microbes and extremophiles that migrated between planets to distribute life around the Universe via space dust, meteoroids, asteroids, comets, planetoids, and also by spacecraft carrying unintended contamination by microorganisms, including spacecraft sent from Earth to Mars. In his talk, Chris reviews the scientific rationale behind the idea, and explores how this model is far from Science Fiction.
