What to stop and start doing in America's race conversation
How can we have productive conversations around race? A first step is to discuss individual actions that allow us to have more meaningful dialogue. Dr. Charlene Williams is a wife, mother, teacher, leader, social justice advocate, author, and lifelong learner. With more than 25 years of experience in education, she currently serves as an assistant superintendent for the Camas School District in Camas, Washington. Her aim is to help educators eliminate opportunity and outcome disparities so each student is able to thrive. This talk was delivered on June 9, 2019 at the first-ever TEDxYouth@Camas event. The 2019 event theme - Seeing the Invisible - focused on bringing attention to the ideas, stories, and communities that are often overlooked in life.
