Between friendships, testimonies, and training, their experience in this region under perpetual tension made them open their eyes to a phenomenon that is too little addressed, that of normalization. “Today, new generations are born and grow up in the context of a humanitarian crisis as their only reality. How to educate them and make them understand that this situation is not inevitable, that this situation is nothing 'normal'?"
Echoing the Palestinian situation, we will see there are nonviolent solutions that have the power to change lives and minds. Raquel and Bruna are two friends who traveled to Palestine to volunteer at a self-managed center in the Dheisheh refugee camp in Bethlehem. In order to understand the legal situation of the Palestinians, they also took a course on Palestinian refugees' rights. Both students in their last year of a Bachelor's degree in International Relations, are very involved in community life; especially in the area of gender and refugees, and they are considering a career in the defense of human rights.
