A new vision for leadership in the military

As Director of Operations at Headquarters, Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC) and the first female Air Commando selected for the rank of general, Brenda Cartier oversees 19,000 personnel, 237 aircraft and $16 billion in assets worldwide. She joined the Air Force in 1992 and has spent most of her career as an Air Force aviator, primarily in the AC-130U gunship. A Master Navigator with more than 4,000 flying hours, she has commanded special operations units at many levels and flown combat missions in Bosnia, Afghanistan and Iraq. She has also held various positions on senior Department of Defense staffs.
