Everything is a resource to learn: A school for well-being
The theme of TEDxYouth@MGIS is The New Wealth - Exploring unembodied treasures and the intangible assets of the future. It goes beyond the notions of economic/monetary wealth, appreciating and incorporating the emerging trends and patterns of diverse disciplines that hopes to positively impact the society in the future. Ms. Anju Chazot is an education initiator with 25 years experience of teaching, conducting parenting workshops and training teachers and policymakers. She co-founded the Mahatma Gandhi International School at Ahmedabad, an alternative and inclusive K-12 school. She co-created the Generated Resources Learning (GRL) pedagogy where children learn using everyday spaces and objects, their body, their senses, emotions and through meta-cognition. She has scripted and presented nearly 20 films on education and authored ‘Clay Cures’ a book on alternative medicine, and ‘Parenting Teens in Modern Times’. Currently she is completing her Doctorate in Education at King’s College London. She talks about the use of the different senses including intuition as the new wealth in education.
