Allison explains how she had the idea of attaching signs with the message"'Sit here if you don't mind someone stopping to say hello' to benches in public spaces, calling them "Happy to Chat" benches. She describes how she put the idea into practice in her home city of Cardiff, Wales and how "Happy to Chat" benches have spread around the world. This simple idea can be adopted by anyone, anywhere. "Happy to Chat" benches encourage people to start conversations and talk to each other, rather than being isolated and sometimes lonely.
