How students are tackling asteroid exploration
Alexander Spiridonov, Valerio Schelbert • TEDxThun
In just two semesters, a team of ten students set out to develop and test a robot that could one day explore asteroids in space. This gigantic - and initially unimaginable - challenge of space robotics was taken on by the two aspiring mechanical engineers Alexander Spiridonov and Valerio Schelbert.
Together with their team, they combined their practical experience and skills in space travel and robotics and brought the ETH Zurich focus project "SpaceHopper" to jump. With new and innovative approaches, they are tackling this unprecedented challenge.
A talk that shows how tough challenges can result in great innovations.
