About this event
7th Grade Quest to Learn students will enlighten, persuade and inform you about their ideas on how we fuel our bodies. Talks will focus on nutrition habits, the benefit of physical education, making fitness fun and the air we breath each day.

Joseph Saavedra
Joseph Saavedra is a maker, technologist, teacher, and hardware and software developer living and working in New York City. His work has been featured in publications such as the New York Times, Wired Magazine and online blogs including Engadget, Gizmodo and MAKE. He has exhibited and presented work in the US, Europe, Asia, and Africa at venues such as Design Indaba, National Art Museum of China, PICNIC Festival, Venice Biennale, and more. He's currently an Assistant Professor of Media Design at Parsons the New School for Design, where his work with DIY environmental monitoring toolsets began with his Master's thesis project Citizen Sensor. -

Physical addiction, an addiction that doesn’t just affect your brain but your body making so you need cigarettes to live. 80-90 of smokers are physically or mentally addicted. The main reason people start is peer pressure, and trying to look cool thing that happen mostly in youth so don't start young. Not smoking can save you life avoiding diseases like cancers, lung tumors, tumors in other parts of the body, blood clots, and ultimately death. -
