TEDxIIMB 2012 was the first TEDx event at IIM Bangalore, and is organized by FII members every year since, in the spirit of encouraging discussions, ideas and interactions by bringing together the most intriguing speakers on one platform. TEDxIIMB 2013 invited attendees to open their minds, expect the unexpected, and walk out to appreciate the world around them like never before. The event's theme "Live the Dream" was conceived aptly to showcase that hard-work, determination and perseverance turn dreams into reality for anyone and everyone, without exceptions!

Founder, CEO of the startup - Meditour, India working globally with leading hospital partners like Fortis, Narayan Hrudayalaya, Gangarams, Apollo etc. Youngest healthcare writer for leading national and international newspapers like India today group, Deccan Chronicle, Asian age etc. Author of Health Education book for Govt of India for upliftment of health status in rural and semi urban areas. Prolific social worker in Netherlands and India.
Mr. Arunachalam Murugunantham
When he realized his wife had to choose between buying family meals and buying her monthly "supplies," social entrepreneur Arunachalam Muruganantham vowed to help her solve the problem of the sanitary pad. His research got very very personal -- and led him to a powerful business model.
Mr. Rahul Tandon
IIMA alumnus, VP - Adayana Inc. & Member, Steering Committee, IIMPACT working for transforming lives by empowerment of women - Rahul Tandon spoke at TEDxIIMB 2013 this time. He has experience of 30 years in consumer products marketing and setting up of new businesses, including joint ventures. This work experience is across diverse industry groups in India and overseas with companies like Eureka Forbes Ltd., The UB Group, Hindustan Unilever Ltd, etc.
Mrs. Shaheen Mistri
Shaheen Mistri is the founder of the Akanksha Foundation, a non-profit organization with a mission to impact the lives of less privileged children, enabling them to maximise their potential and change their lives. Akanksha works primarily in the field of education, addressing non formal education through its Akanksha centre model and also formal education by initiating school reform. Shaheen started Akanksha at the age of 18. Over the past 19 years, the organization has expanded from 15 children in one centre in 1989 to over 3,500 children across Mumbai and Pune, and has 58 centers and 6 schools in Mumbai and Pune. Shaheen is also the CEO and one of the founding board members of Teach For India, a nationwide movement with the mission to build a movement of leaders who will eliminate inequity in education. She has been working on the idea of Teach For India since 2007, and in 2008 formally established the movement after successfully adapting the widely acclaimed Teach For America model to India. The first batch of 87 Teach For India Fellows (exceptional college graduates and young professionals from across the country) began teaching in June 2009, and committed to teach full-time for two years in under-resourced schools and to become life-long leaders, across sectors, advocating for educational equity. In just 5 years, Mistri has grown the movement to 500 Fellows teaching in 5 cities and impacting the lives of almost 16000 children. Among the numerous rewards and recognitions she has received, Shaheen is an Ashoka Fellow (2001), Recipient of the Indo-American Society's Young Achiever Award (2001), a Global Leader for Tomorrow at the World Economic Forum (2002), an Archana Trust Woman Achiever (2003), an Asia Society 21 Leader (2006) and serves on the boards of Ummeed, The Thermax Social Initiatives Foundation and is an advisor to the Latika Roy Foundation.
Mr. Rahul Bose
Rahul Bose - named 'Superstar of art house cinema' by TIME magazine, this accomplished actor has acted in movies such as 'Mr. and Mrs. Iyer' and 'Jhankaar Beasts' among others. He won the Best Actor award at the Singapore Film Festival for 'Split Wide Open'. He founded an NGO, 'The Foundation', dedicated to the removal of all kinds of discrimination in 2006. He was named the Indian Youth Icon of the Year (Social Justice) in 2010 & NDTV's Celebrity Sports Activist of the Year in 2012. He was the first Indian with a non-financial background to deliver key note speech at World Bank Headquarters in Washington DC. He was also an International Rugby player for India between 1998 and 2009.
Mr. Chandrakasan S
Chandrakasan S is the co-founder and CEO of Paadhai Inc., a multi-talented entertainment group which came up with India's first musical novel "Ranam Sugam". He is also the author of upcoming novel from Penguin Publishers -- "You Stole My Song!" -- an adaptation of Paadhai's second musical novel -- "Neon Nagaram". His group recently released the super-fun music video about a Facebook love story -- which went viral in YouTube with 3,00,000 views in just 5 days.
Mr. Boman Irani
Boman Irani - the boy from Byculla who moved on from behind a potato chips shop counter to rule the world of theatre and cinema with his poignant and everlasting performances. Following his passion, he gave up his family business to take up photography. The clicks of his camera, combined with his charisma, introduced him to the world of acting. Well known for his mindblowing and realistic performances in "I'm Not Bajirao" and "Gandhi vs. Gandhi" he has won many an accolade. He is a household name for having starred in over 150 TV Commercials. Some of his most famous movies are: 3 Idiots, Munnabhai MBBS,Don, Lage Raho Munna Bhai, Well done Abba, Houseful, Being Cyrus, 99, Dostana, My Wife's Murder, Waqt, Veer-Zaara, Lakshya, Main Hoon Na, Darna Mana Hai, Ferrari ki Sawari and Cocktail.
