x = independently organized TED event

Theme: Open secrets

This event occurred on
April 16, 2024
Ljubljana, Ljubljana
Slovenia

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Alison Kogoj

Nurse, Licensed natural fertility consultant
Alison Kogoj is a registered nurse and licensed natural fertility consultant with many years of experience, as well as a systemic-relational therapist, lecturer, freelance entrepreneur and author of We Want a Baby (Želiva si dojenčka). In addition, she is a partner and a mother who loves nature, adrenaline sports and animals. She prefers the mountains to the sea and loves drawing, dancing and traveling. Her open secret: “In my "spare time" I write books that will help make menstrual cycles less of a mystery to women and men.”

Andreja Gerl

Nurse
Andreja plays many different roles in her life, some of them are wife, mother and being a nurse, but not necessarily in this order. She knows how to ski, but she hasn't stood on the skies for more than 18 years. She likes her birthday and is not afraid to admit that. In the time of finding herself, she found out that cooking following the recipes calms her down. In this year she will climb her local hill for the hundredth time. Her open secret: “I believe that the first contact when meeting people tells more than the spoken words.”

Domen Puš

Film actor, director and producer, graduate of administrative sciences
Domen Puš is a graduate in administrative sciences, an actor, director, and screenwriter... and there's more to him. He studied at the Faculty of Administration in Ljubljana and Copenhagen Film & Theatre School. He's a man who wears many hats, directing all his knowledge towards creating independent film projects. He likes to do things a bit differently from the norm and is often found lost in thought wherever he goes. His open secret: “I often try to think about nothing.”

Lisa Mislej Vončina

Professor of English, German
Lisa is a professor of English and German. She has always wanted to become a teacher and today her class has more than 1,500 students from all over Slovenia - she is the founder of the online platform Razturi na maturi (@razturinamaturi). She is a big supporter of using technology for the purpose of personalization and acquiring new knowledge. Despite her enthusiasm for technology, she still remains a fan of "analog" books and passes on her love for them to her two little ones on a daily basis. In general, she is surrounded by the joy of opposites in life: technology and books, opera and ballet and listening to hip hop and rap music, socializing with people and enjoying her own family "bubble" of peace. She loves the Slovenian language and also speaks 6 foreign languages. Her open secret: ''I like to do all kinds of sports, but I hate hiking.''

Timotej Bonifer

Entrepreneur
When he's not on his bike, you'll find him behind a computer or with a microphone in hand. He says he doesn't like too much free time and always ensures that his calendar is as full as possible. He enjoys reading books, educating himself, experimenting, and sharing his findings with others. He's a passionate speaker, a master of the English language, and a creator of video content. He hosts his own podcast, creates and sells digital products, and is employed as a content writer for cycling trips across Europe. Quality sleep, lively debates, and good people are most important to him. His open secret: ''Sometimes I pretend to be English.''
