Theme: Status Quo

TEDx Sampoerna University is an independently organized TED event co-branded with Sampoerna University, licensed by TED dedicated to the dissemination of groundbreaking ideas. Defined as an eminent forum, this event convenes diverse speakers under the overarching theme, "Status Quo," challenging existing norms, conventions, and traditions. Through a series of thought-provoking talks, TEDx Sampoerna University transcends disciplinary boundaries, inspiring intellectual curiosity, fostering education, and kindling meaningful and transformative conversations.

“Status Quo” refers to the existing state of affairs or the current societal norms and conventions. It's the way things are, often unquestioned and accepted as the default. In a world often captivated by the allure of visionary ideals, the theme "Status Quo" serves as a clarion call to pause, observe, and truly understand the intricate tapestry of our present reality. It beckons us to peel back the layers of familiarity that cloak the status quo, revealing the nuanced challenges and complexities that often go overlooked. It is a deliberate journey into the heart of our existing circumstances, a conscious effort to perceive the unspoken struggles, the systemic intricacies, and the unaddressed disparities.

"Status Quo" is not merely a stagnant backdrop; rather, it is the canvas upon which our collective future is painted. It challenges the assumption that progress lies solely in the pursuit of novel concepts, emphasizing the necessity of a grounded understanding of our current environment. To be held in Theatre Wahyu Sihombing on the 30th of March 2024, the event features a range of prominent speakers in their respective field of expertise including Oscar Darmawan, Fathia Fairuza, Kristi Ardiana, Mishell Chai, Pang Xue Cong and Ratih Widiartha to share ideas worth spreading as we aim to inspire innovation, critical thinking, and a deeper understanding of the complexities we face today, encouraging actionable insights for tomorrow.
