Headgirl, GEMS Our Own English High School, Dubai

Aashini Dara, a student at OOD, whose greatest ambition is making a difference, lives by the idea that everyone has a purpose. She believes that she can best express herself through art, writing, photography, but most of all, public speaking, where she feels most at home. Through her TED Talk, she aims to highlight the profound beauty within everyday objects, the extraordinary in the ordinary by uncovering metaphorical interpretations. Something that sprung up as a 3 a.m. thought, has now turned into a positive perception towards life.

Meet Abdullah Munawwar, a student at Sharjah Indian School. As the eldest brother among three siblings, Abdullah embodies the essence of "one is strong, two is stronger, but three is invincible." With the confidence of a born leader and a passion for challenges, he firmly believes in the power of the mind over matter. Always eager to tackle new obstacles, Abdullah inspires others to embrace growth through adversity. Through his Ted talk, he’ll be able to highlight the importance and need of mental strength which is required for sporting success

Ahal Karim, a thriving science student, an aspiring Pilot and a young entrepreneur, who has delved in the adventurous world of start ups and learned the art of survival; strongly believes in discipline and hardwork to achieve his goals. With his wit, his persistence and his 'Never Stop Learning!' spirit, he has developed profound interests in novels, poetry, public speaking, photography, video editing, chess, hiking, traveling, athletics and arts. Batool Enayat, a reader and an aspiring lawyer is a Pakistani Year 11 student currently studying at Al Salam Community School. She is the Student Enrichment Excutive of her school. She works to cultivate an empowering and accessible environment and platform for students to gain knowledge and skills outside of their educational horizons. She wholeheartedly believes in the idea of facing our fears of failure when taking risks, as well as creating a productive environment for our own personal growth is the best possible way to live our lives.

Danah Thaslim, a student at OOD, an aspiring lawyer, and a person who believes in aspiring those around her to become more competent versions of themselves. She has an array of talents ranging from painting and filming to being an avid runner on the sports field. Not only is she a passionate advocate for sustainability but also always brings innovative ideas to change the world to a better place. Through her TEDx Talk, she aims in helping people get out of the loop of following each other constantly and moreover focusing on creating who they are as a person, by growing into themselves rather than growing into someone else.

Gayathri Vinod

Gayathri Vinod is a 12th grade commerce student and an ACCA aspirant. She has a deep passion for learning and acquiring new skills. She lives by the phrase ‘Just Try’ and has dabbled in music production, photography, dancing, writing, oratory, and stand-up comedy over the years. She is also an advocate for sustainability and a firm believer in the power of youth to bring meaningful change to the world. Through her TEDx Talk, she wants to draw attention to how Generation Z is growing up terrified for their future and how it is their desire to succeed and survive in such a world that forces them to be a fiercely competitive generation.
